Day 1: From Marrakech to Ouarzazate – Crossing the Majestic Atlas Mountains
Your journey begins in Marrakech as you leave the city and head into the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which reaches an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along the way, be sure to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will stop for lunch in Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Desert," where you’ll have the chance to visit the Cinema Museum and, time permitting, explore the Kasbah itself.
Your adventure continues through the lush Skoura oasis and the town of Kalaat M’Gouna, also called the "Valley of the Roses," before finally arriving at your accommodation in Ouarzazate for the night.
Day 2: Ouarzazate to Merzouga – Exploring Kasbahs and Desert Horizons
Set off early from Ouarzazate and journey toward the expansive Sahara Desert. En route, explore the enchanting Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and stop in Tinghir to marvel at the breathtaking Todra Gorges. Continue your drive through Erfoud and Rissani, taking in the serene beauty of the Tafilalet oasis.
Your day culminates at Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, where you'll embark on a memorable camel trek to watch the sun dip below the golden dunes. Later, settle into a desert camp for the night, dining under a vast, star-studded sky while enjoying the captivating sounds of traditional Gnawa music.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Sunrise Dunes and Sahara Adventures
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the vast Merzouga dunes, a truly magical moment in the heart of the Sahara. After breakfast at the camp, you can enjoy some free time to explore the desert surroundings or take part in optional activities such as visiting the street market in Rissani or even a Bedouin camp family in the deep desert. There, you'll have the chance to savor their unique tea or even other traditional special dishes cooked in clay ovens. Afterwards, you’ll head to Mifs to discover the fascinating fossil and kohl mines.
Next, you’ll visit the Gnawa community in the small village of Khamlia, where you can experience their vibrant traditional music and dance performances. Finally, your journey takes you to the Tisserdamine oasis, nestled in the heart of the desert.
Later, return to the camp to enjoy another peaceful night immersed in the calm Berber desert atmosphere.
Day 4: Merzouga to Fez – Journey from the Desert to the Ancient Medina
After sunrise and breakfast at the camp, begin your journey to Fez, passing through changing landscapes and stopping for refreshments along the way.
Our route takes us straight to Errachidia, where we’ll pause for a coffee break before exploring the Errachidia dam. Afterwards, we’ll journey through Azrou to experience the serene Gouraud forest, home to Africa’s largest cedar tree. Finally, we’ll cross the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains via Imouzzer. Arrive in Fez in the evening, where you’ll rest and prepare for the next day of cultural discovery.
Day 5: Fez – Where Tradition Meets Timeless Beauty
Spend a full day exploring the historic city of Fez, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Wander through the UNESCO-listed medina, visit the famous tanneries, and explore landmarks such as Al Quaraouiyine University and the Nejjarine Museum. Immerse yourself in the vibrant souks and experience traditional Moroccan life.
Spend the night in Fez, enjoying authentic cuisine and the city’s enchanting atmosphere.
Day 6: Fez to Chefchaouen – Discovering the Blue Pearl of the Rif Mountains
Depart Fez in the morning and travel toward Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue Pearl” for its striking blue-painted streets. Spend the afternoon wandering the charming alleys, browsing local crafts, and enjoying panoramic views from the town’s hilltop.
Enjoy a relaxing evening in Chefchaouen, soaking in the peaceful mountain ambiance.
Day 7: Chefchaouen to Tanger – Coastal Vibes and Cultural Charms
After a leisurely morning in Chefchaouen, set off for Tanger, a vibrant city where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic. Upon arrival, explore the historic medina, visit the Kasbah, and stroll along the coastal promenade.
Conclude your journey here, enriched by the diverse landscapes and cultures you have experienced throughout Morocco.
*At the desert, it is possible to do quad biking in the morning and watch the sunrise colors from the heart of the desert before breakfast (additional costs).
